What did the client request?
Our client, a special school in south western Sydney needed help with temperature control for a new building. The north facing main wall being mostly constructed of windows, afforded great views of the surrounding grounds and gardens, but also allowed classrooms and offices to overheat, even in winter. This was also creating problems for air conditioning settings, with each room experiencing a different temperature depending on the time of day.
The EH Brett Solution
The EH Brett Solution
Our solution of 48 individually automated & remote controlled panel blinds allowed each room to be protected from the sun with great improvements to comfort levels and a vastly more efficient use of the air conditioning and power. Definitely a case of being able to manage comfort and power efficiency on a room by room basis. The steel grey shade mesh used complimented the look of the building but also allowed for the beautiful surrounding gardens & grounds to be still enjoyed even when the blinds were down.
Challenges

Our experienced team worked within the needs of classroom activities, the needs of the students and within a tight deadline so the blinds were installed ready for the blessing and dedication ceremony of a new statue at Mater Dei, with many local community leaders and politicians present. A great shading result all round.
